About Project 10x - The Unicorn
The term 'unicorn' was coined by the infamous venture capitalist Aileen Lee who had dubbed privately held startup companies with a valuation of over $1 billion or more a unicorn. She emphasizes extensively on the multiplier effect (i.e., the 10x) that VC and other private equity investors have on driving exponentiality with small to medium businesses.
On her 2013 piece "Welcome the Unicorn Club: Learning From Billion-Dollar Startups", she expressly extends the notion of driving high growth businesses through well-funded capital markets and good/quality of entrepreneurial development programs.
It is for this reason that the Rajen Reddy Group of companies, guided by the confines of the Enterprise Development mandate and the legacy of our late founder, Mr. Rajen Reddy, have taken the initiative to launch the Project 10x that speaks to driving value creation and a multiplier effect for all budding entrepreneurs as we look to establish new businesses of the future.
The Project 10x will adopt 10 most effective entrepreneurs and should all receive full suite of services that will enable them to scale and thrive for a unicorn mark. This includes, professionalization of services, transitioning to mainstream markets, and more importantly drive market access and funding.
The Group is fortunate to hold high growth subsidiary businesses that have hit the unicorn mark, under the stewardship of our capable executives and more prominently, our late founder, Mr. Rajen Reddy.

The KZN Oils Enterprise Development Program is dedicated to supporting and growing small to medium businesses. In today's competitive market, it can be challenging for these businesses to thrive and reach their full potential. That's where our program comes in. Our primary focus is on supporting businesses in KwaZulu-Natal, providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
We are looking for start-up businesses that primarily and/or offer adjacent services to the petroleum industry. This extends to Transport Business, PCMOs, Marine, Agriculture, Co-operatives etc.
The Project 10x will also focus extensively on the township and rural economy. Primarily focusing at establishing good working governance, and financial support to businesses such as Spaza Shops, auto machinic and all other informal trade prevalent in townships and rural areas.
